Vice President for Innovation and Strategy

In this position, a first for the College, Dr. Ernst plays a key role in evaluating and guiding the strategic positioning and growth strategy for Excelsior College. He also assumes executive leadership of Excelsior's Office of Institutional Effectiveness.
Formerly chief operating officer at Knowledge Factor, Dr. Ernst has held executive leadership roles in both the private sector and higher education. He served as a tenured faculty member at the University of Nebraska, and was Director of Instructional Technology and professor of biology at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
The vice president for Innovation and Strategy, along with the President and the College's Executive Staff, is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, directing, and evaluating Excelsior's strategic growth and evolution. Dr. Ernst works closely with the College's management team to lead major strategic projects, problem-solving efforts and effectiveness assessment.
