- In HSC 365, Research for Evidence Based Practice, students are required to complete a 25 question, comprehensive final exam. Students apply concepts and knowledge learned throughout the course for evaluating evidence. 39% of students - needs improvement

Program Outcome 2:
- In the course HSC 320, Health Care Issues in Culturally Diverse Populations, students are required to analyze a religious group and its approach to health care. The analysis will include a demographic description of the religious group, the group's beliefs related to health issues, ritual associated with health or illness practiced, and potential conflicts that exist as a result of differences between the religious beliefs of the group and values of the dominant culture. 96% of students - highly achieved
- In HSC 464, Health Science Capstone, students prepare a presentation on their individual case analysis paper. The presentation includes: targeted audience, evidence of a clear strategy for resolving the problem and the analysis of evidence that provides a rationale and supports the strategy. Students must apply at least one of the case analysis tools learned throughout the course. 91% of students - highly achieved

Program Outcome 3:
- In the course HSC 320, Health Care Issues in Culturally Diverse Populations, students are required to write a paper identifying a cultural group to include demographics, beliefs, rituals, health care practices and health issues. Students will research for health care services currently meeting the needs of their chosen group. Students will create an ideal system exemplifying culturally competent health care for the cultural group selected. 92% of students - highly achieved

Program Outcome 4:
- In the course HSC 445, Introduction to Health Care Informatics, student are required to write a paper identifying an issue related to the electronic health record to include scope, boundaries, background, outcomes, and stakeholders. Students will offer a course of action that addresses the concerns of the stakeholders as they relate to the issue. Students will describe the implementation of the course of action and define a strategy for evaluation of the course of action. 85% of students - highly achieved

Program Outcome 5:
- In the course HSC 310, Writing and Communication in the Health Science Professions, students choose to write a detailed memo, a development plan or a report. Each option requires students to submit a draft of their assignment to the online tutoring service, SmartThinking. The students are then required to incorporate the feedback received from SmartThinking into their final submitted project. 74% of students – meets standard

- In HSC 431, Introduction to the Healthcare Delivery System, students are required to analyze the Oregon Health Plan. In the analysis, students will compare advantages and disadvantages of the plan, identify challenges to garnering nationwide acceptance, address ethical implications and describe other approaches and policies that could be used and/or created to effectively control the cost of care incurred by the government. 79% of students – meets standard
- In the HSC 464 capstone course, students conduct an independent case analysis. Students provide a brief summary of case; identification of the problems; an analysis of the case using 2 of 5 tools presented earlier in course; an analysis of legal, ethical and/or policy issues; a detailed strategy for resolving the problems; and an analysis of the evidence used to guide the students decision-making. 93% of students - highly achieved
