Yes. While the homeland security certificate program has been designed to provide maximum flexibility for the adult learner, because of the timely nature of the content covered in the program, the certificate must be completed within three years of the time of enrollment.

Yes, if our faculty determines that the course work is comparable to the courses offered by Excelsior College, you may transfer up to two courses into the program. This course work can be no more than five years old. You must take four out of the six required courses at Excelsior College and maintain an overall 2.0 GPA in the certificate program.

Yes. Students who complete the homeland security certificate program earn 16 undergraduate credits, all of which may be applied toward the bachelor of science degree in liberal arts, criminal justice major, or toward the bachelor of science, liberal studies degree. Excelsior College students should consult with their academic advisor before enrolling in this program or registering for courses. Acceptance of these courses by another college or university is at that institution's discretion.
