Certifications

* 2 additional nursing elective credits will be awarded to students holding more than one CCRN certification (adult, pediatric, neonatal). For example, a student may be awarded four credits for the first certification and two credits for each subsequent certification.
‡5 nursing elective credits will be awarded to students holding both CPAN and CAPA certifications.
 

Instructions to Receive Credit

To receive degree credit for any of the above nursing certifications, written verification must be submitted by the certification board to Excelsior College. This must be submitted on the certification board’s official letterhead and signed by an appropriate official at the certification board stating:

• Your full name
• Your birth day and month or last four digits of your SSN
• The test you took to earn certification and how long your certification is valid

The letter must be sent in a sealed envelope from the certification board directly to:

Upon receipt, the Records Office will verify the authenticity of the documentation and, once approved, will submit the letter to your academic advisor to update your records. You can expect to receive an updated status report within 4 to 6 weeks after the receipt of the letter.
