Federal Financial Aid

Financial aid from the U.S. government is a vital source of funding for Excelsior College students. Excelsior's financial aid advisors are available to simplify the application process and help you:

  • Establish eligibility for federal aid.
  • Complete required forms.
  • Choose the federal aid program(s) that best suit(s) your needs.
  • Keep your Excelsior education affordable.

Federal financial aid falls into two categories:

  • Federal grants: based on financial need with no repayment (Pell)
  • Federal loans: Title IV Loans, Direct Stafford Student Loan with a fixed low interest (Stafford and PLUS)

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

To establish eligibility for either type of federal financial aid, the first step is to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The same form will be used to calculate your eligibility for aid from non-federal sources (such as Excelsior College scholarships).

The Excelsior financial aid office can help simplify the process of completing the FAFSA. Contact the financial aid office toll-free at (855) 323-9235 or consult our online resources:
