Excelsior College offers degree courses at the associate and bachelor's levels in business, liberal arts, nursing, health sciences, and technology—and master’s-level degree courses in business, liberal studies, and nursing.

Course Search, Terms and Deadlines

Review terms and course registration deadlines. Quickly find course(s) that interest you and may fulfill your degree requirements with our course search.

Online Registration

Once you have selected a course(s) and the date offered, you are ready to register online (log in required). Be sure to consult with your academic advisor if you are planning to apply your Excelsior College course credits towards the requirements of a degree program.

Late Registration

Late registration begins the Saturday after the established registration deadline and continues through Friday of the first week of the term at 12:00 p.m. EST. Only online registrations are accepted during this period. You will be charged a $25 late registration fee. If you drop and then add a course, you will not incur the fee.

CD-ROM

We offer a select number of courses in CD-ROM format. Each CD-ROM contains an entire 15-week course so that you can access the course work if you do not have consistent Internet access. You need to be able to email your instructor at scheduled intervals during the term in order to report progress and submit assignments and exams. You are responsible for obtaining the required textbooks and study resources for each course.

Online

  With 8 and 15-week online courses you can access and study for the courses at your convenience, 24/7. Dialogue with instructors and other students in the course, group activities, lecture notes, submission of scheduled assignments and exams are all part of your online learning experience.

Registration Information

Choose from dozens of online courses in a wide range of subjects to earn upper- and lower-level credit in liberal arts, criminal justice, business, IT, and other technology. We also offer an interesting array of graduate-level online courses.

How are Excelsior College courses delivered?

Two types of distance learning course formats are available:

  • Online courses
  • Instructor-led CD-ROM-based courses offered in business-related subjects by our School of Business and Technology

Will courses from other colleges transfer into my partnership school degree plan?

Yes. Excelsior College recognizes college-level courses completed at other regionally accredited colleges and universities, as well as appropriate military experience. Contact your military consultant or our Center for Military Education at military@excelsior.edu for evaluation. Academic advisors evaluate student transcripts from other colleges and universities during the evaluation process, and there is no limit on the number of transfer credits accepted. Credits transferred must apply to specific degree requirements.

How many courses can I take at one time?

 

The number of courses taken at one time largely depends on your available free time. In an effort to ensure students are positioned for success, Excelsior does limit the number of credits one can register for at any given time (undergraduates 16 credits; graduate students 12 credits). We suggest you make a course load decision based upon a realistic assessment of the amount of time you can devote to your studies. If you are enrolled in an Excelsior program, your academic advisor can assist you in developing a plan. Servicemembers should consult a military education counselor or education services officer (ESO).
