Number of Attempts Allowed

You may retake any Excelsior College® Examination or UExcel® exam a total of four times but no more than three times within a one year period.

Nursing students may retake nursing theory examinations a maximum of four times and no more than three times within a one year period. Four failures for the same exam will result in dismissal from the program. A five year period from date of dismissal must pass before a student may appeal to re-enroll.

Waiting Period Between Attempts

• You may repeat an exam 60 days after your first attempt and 120 days after your second and/or subsequent attempts.
• You must register and pay for all retesting attempts.
