he Center for Military Education offers customized benefits and programs for Army and Army National Guard personnel.

Our faculty and staff are accessible, knowledgeable, and fully committed to your success. Excelsior College offers degree programs in more than 30 disciplines, with military-friendly benefits that include:

  • Convenient online and CD-ROM course formats. Complete courses from any location during training, deployment, and/or the transition back to civilian life. (Only business courses are available via CD-ROM.)
  • Military-friendly transfer policies. Get maximum academic credit for Army training and education, so you can complete your degree more quickly.
  • Military Tuition Assistance. TA may cover up to 100 percent of your costs, and Excelsior waives enrollment, administration, and graduation fees for servicemembers.
  • “Success Strategies.” This award-winning course helps you turn Army experience into a rewarding career.
  • Accessible, specialized academic support. We offer military-only advisors, free tutoring, writing support, and career development services.
  • Innovative, Army-customized 2-credit courses. Build on your SSD1 coursework.

GoArmyEd

Operated by the Army Continuing Education System (ACES), GoArmyEd provides a one-stop portal for managing your college education and Tuition Assistance (TA). Excelsior delivers TA-funded degree and course offerings, and reports student progress through GoArmyEd.

To enroll in Excelsior College through GoArmyEd:

  1. Create your GoArmyEd account on the GoArmyEd site.
  2. Select Excelsior College as your Home Institution and choose an approved degree/certificate program.
  3. Complete and submit the GoArmyEd Common Application.

College of the American Soldier

The Enlisted Education Program (EEP) enables Soldiers in Combat Arms MOSs to achieve an Associate degree during the first term of enlistment. Regular Army training and coursework can account for nearly half of the 60 credits required for an associate degree:

  • 5 credits for Basic Training
  • 9 credits for SSD1 coursework
  • up to 11 credits for Army Combat MOS
  • 3 credits for Warrior Leader course

The EEP offers 7 associate degree options, 8 bachelor’s degrees, and 3 master’s degrees. Get more information about the program.

Army / National Guard Financial Aid and Discounts

Excelsior College offers special fee and pricing options for military servicemembers and their families. Military spouse scholarship programs are also available.

For U.S. Army Soldiers who choose the College of the American Soldier (CAS) Enrollment Option, enrollment, student services, and graduation administrative fees are waived for select degree programs. To be eligible for these administrative fee waivers, Army Soldiers must take a minimum number of Excelsior course credits toward their degree requirements. In addition, Army and National Guard personnel (and their immediate family members) are eligible for all the financial aid programs that are available to non-military Excelsior College students, including:

Excelsior College has open undergraduate admission for military servicemembers, with the exception of these degree programs:

  • Associate in Applied Science in Nursing
  • Associate in Science in Nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing

To apply for admission to a nursing program, visit our Application page. For non-nursing programs, you can use the undergraduate application process optionally if you'd like to obtain a preliminary review of transfer credits prior to enrolling.
