Spam Filters and Email

Add us to your address book and make sure our emails get through

Spam (unsolicited or unwanted electronic messages) accounts for more than half of all email sent. Many Internet Service Providers (ISPs) use spam filters to keep these unwanted emails from reaching your Inbox. As a result, even if you've signed up to receive email from Excelsior College, our emails may be blocked, routed to your spam folder, or displayed incorrectly by these filters. Add us to your email address book and make sure our emails get through.

Add these addresses:

  • Excelsior.College@excelsior.edu
  • no-reply@excelsior.edu

Instructions for adding addresses:

Select the name of your email program below to see customized instructions for adding us to your address book.

Google Mail® Users:

  1. Open your email message
  2. Click on the down arrow next to Reply on the top right of the message
  3. From the drop down menu, click on Add to Contacts List
  4. Our email address will be automaticaly entered into your Contacts List

Yahoo® Users:

  1. Open your email message
  2. Click on the Add icon next to the From address
  3. Our email address is automatically placed in the email field in the Add Contact pop-up box
  4. Add additional contact information
  5. Click on Save
  6. Our email address will be automatically entered into your Yahoo! Address Book

If you encounter any problems, contact Yahoo! Support.

Windows Live Hotmail® Users:

  1. Open your email message
  2. Click on Mark as safe at the top of the message
  3. Our email address will be automatically entered into your Safe Senders list

If you encounter any problems, contact Hotmail Support.

EarthLink® Users:

  1. Open your email message
  2. Click your mailbox's Message menu and choose Add Senders to your Address Book
  3. Our email address will be automatically entered into your EarthLink Address Book

AOL® Webmail Users:

  1. Open your email message
  2. Click on More Details at the top of the email
  3. Hover your mouse over the From address
  4. Our email address is automatically placed in the email field of the Add Contact pop-up box
  5. Add any additional contact information
  6. Click on Add Contact
  7. Our email address will be automatically entered into your AOL Address Book

If you encounter any problems, contact AOL Support.

AOL® Users:

  1. Open your email message
  2. Click on the Add Address icon
  3. Our email address is automatically placed in the name and email field in the Add Contacts pop-up box. 
  4. Click the Save button
  5. Our email address will be automatically entered into your AOL Address Book

Microsoft Outlook 2003/2007® Users:

  1. Open your email message
  2. Click on Actions from the menu bar
  3. Click on Junk E-mail from the drop down menu
  4. Click on Add Sender to Safe Senders List
  5. Our email address will be automatically entered into your Safe Senders list
