Description: The examination measures knowledge and understanding of the material typically taught in a one-semester survey course in philosophy. The examination content reflects common knowledge drawn from courses with such titles as Introduction to Philosophy or Basic Philosophical Issues. The examination tests for a knowledge of facts and terminology and an understanding of logic, epistemology, metaphysics, and ethics.
