Different programs have different requirements, and we want to make sure you're in the program that's right for you. Contact us if you have questions.

Military Servicemembers: The undergraduate application for admission and preliminary review are optional for you unless you are applying to an undergraduate nursing degree program. Learn more by visiting your branch-specific Getting Started page. Select your branch and status below.

Create your free MyExcelsior Account

If you don’t already have one, set up your free MyExcelsior account. It will provide access to all the resources you will need.

Gather Your Records

Candidates who have served or are currently serving in a branch of the U.S. Military must submit branch-specific documentation with the application, or with official enrollment if bypassing the application.  Select from the list below for more information and instructions on requesting your documentation:

Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) Transcript

Army

Army/ACE (American Council on Education) Registry Transcript System (AARTS)

Coast Guard

Coast Guard Institute Transcript

Navy and Marine Corps

Veterans

Submit the transcript described above for your branch. You may also submit an official Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD 214), certified by a County Clerk or VA Office and submitted in a sealed envelope from the certifying officer.

Military FAQ

Does Excelsior College offer scholarships to military and family members?

Military personnel and family members are eligible for all scholarships that are available to Excelsior College students. For further information, visit our Financial Aid page or email the Financial Aid office at finaid@excelsior.edu. Military spouse scholarship programs are available.

How are Excelsior College courses delivered?

Two types of distance learning course formats are available:

  • Instructor-led CD-ROM-based courses
  • Online courses

Can I start my program at any time?

Excelsior College has continuous enrollment, and our flexibly-scheduled distance learning courses begin every other month throughout the year. CD-ROM and online courses are offered in 8 week and 15 week terms. Review our course dates and deadlines and course search page for detailed information. Please contact an academic advisor for course approval to be sure the course(s) you choose will apply toward your remaining degree requirements.
