Late Fees

Statement of Policy

A late fee is assessed when a student fails to pay their Student Service Annual Fee (SSAF), or their Graduation Student Services Fee (GSSF), by the due date indicated on the billing invoice.

Procedure

  1. If payment for the SSAF or GSSF is not received by the due date indicated on the billing invoice, a late fee will be assessed. If the SSAF or GSSF and the late fee are not received within four weeks of the due date given, the student's status will be changed to withdrawn, the late fee will be waived, and the reactivation fee will be assessed in its place. If the SSAF or GSSF and the reactivation fee are not received within 3 months from the withdrawal date, undergraduate students will be required to re-enroll and graduate students will be required to reapply to the program and pay the application fee.
     
  2. The Bursar's Office will process payments of both late and reactivation fees. If the student’s record has been flagged as "withdrawn accounting" (WA), the Bursar's Office will accept the SSAF or GSSF and reactivation fee payment within three months from the date the student was withdrawn. The Bursar's Office will change the service expiration date (previously EOAP), and the student's record will automatically be reactivated.
     
  3. Extenuating circumstances will be considered by the ombudsperson. Such circumstances include prolonged illness, death in the family, financial difficulty, or change in employment circumstances.
