Limitations on Concurrent Excelsior College® Examinations Registration

Statement of Policy

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that students do not register for an excessive number of Excelsior College Examinations (ECEs) at any one time since doing so may adversely affect their academic success.

Students (as defined by the Student Rights and Responsibilities policy) may be registered for no more than 4 concurrent Excelsior College Examinations at any one time.

Note: Matriculated students are encouraged to seek approval from an academic advisor prior to registering for an examination.

Procedure

The Office of Information Technology Services (OITS) has implemented a block in the Student Information System (SIS) to prevent enrolled undergraduate and/or graduate students and Excelsior College testing students from registering for more than 4 concurrent ECEs or MBA exams at any one time. This procedure will be enforced for all students.

Exception: On a case-by-case basis, this business rule may be overridden by Test Administration staff with prior approval from an academic advisor.
