Linda Davila began her career at Merrill Lynch in 1979, serving as producing sales manager and resident coach to financial advisors dedicated to quality performance, superior service, and leadership. Her responsibilities included providing expertise in identifying markets, brands, trends of the future, and developing investment policies and business models; she also hosted numerous training symposiums targeting career advancement and mentoring.
Today, Ms. Davila specializes in financial risk management for high net worth individuals and non-profit organizations; this includes financial planning, wealth management and transfer issues, stock option planning, estate and trust planning, and charitable gift giving. Her emphasis is on capital preservation and growth strategies.
Ms. Davila is recognized for her many outstanding achievements as chairperson of the New York Institute of Technology; she serves as an ambassador, meeting royal families, distinguished global leaders in the business community, and ministers of education. She has been a guest speaker in the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and in Vancouver, Canada. In 2005, she was recognized as an “Influential Women in Business” by the Women’s Leadership Exchange. She also serves as Principal-for-a-Day, sponsored by the Chancellor of the New York City Public School System. In 2007 she was honored by the Jesse Banks Foundation for her many contributions to society.
Invested in the Most Venerable Order of St. John, she holds the distinguished title of “Dame Linda,” an honor bestowed upon her by Her Royal Majesty, The Queen of England. Ms. Davila was also invested as “Conferee of the Medal in Gold” by the Royal Order of Francis I, in recognition of her charitable contributions, distinguished service, and humanitarian works.
Invited by His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi to participate in the Festival of Thinkers symposium in 2007 in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, she has also presented a discussion on the Vision of Children and Women of the World with Dr. Maathai, Nobel Peace Prize recipient from Kenya. Ms. Davila also contributed an essay celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates, published by HCT Press.
