| Other Exam and Assessment Options Portfolio-Based AssessmentOur faculty will assess your prior learning acquired outside college or university settings, such as your employment, community, volunteer, or other experiences, and determine whether to recommend college-level credits which you can then apply toward your Excelsior College degree. These assessments are not evaluations of life experience. They are assessments of college-level learning gained as a result of that experience. Prerequisites You must complete the Excelsior College course CCS 201: Introduction to Prior Learning and Portfolio Development (or an equivalent), and enroll in Excelsior College prior to submitting a portfolio for evaluation.
