Paul had pre-requisite credits from a community college, but colleges would not transfer them to a degree program. His Navy friends recommended Excelsior College. “While other colleges would not accept my previously earned credits, Excelsior did. This helped me finish my degree sooner."
Convenient
Paul started night classes, but couldn’t fit it into a thirteen hour shift schedule. “I was unable to take daytime classes or night school. Excelsior fit into my lifestyle and helped me advance my career." Paul’s wife is happy to have him home during online classes and Paul is happy to be home. “Online learning solves the problem for students who have limited time available. They can study after dinner; they can study when they want."
Comfortable
“I was happy that I didn’t have to sit in a classroom with eighteen year-olds. I would feel out of place. Excelsior’s Web site is easy to use. There isn’t the technical language and confusion found on other college sites.” Studying online at home was not only comfortable, but it also sped up Paul’s degree completion goal. “I can take more courses with Excelsior than I could in a classroom setting.”
Involved
Paul was particularly happy with the interaction at Excelsior. “I like the participation of online learning. I couldn’t just sit in a classroom and listen. I had good conversations about my studies in the online discussion boards. Some of my questions received as many as seventy-two responses. Excelsior Chat Rooms were great. I talked more with students and professors than I would if I were in a classroom."
