President: Steven Martinez

Steven MartinezSteven Martinez is from San Diego, California. He attended the Nuclear Field A school and power school in Charleston, SC. Steven completed the nuclear prototype in Ballston Spa, New York, on the S8G Plant. He served as a Nuclear Machinist Mate onboard an Ohio Class Submarine, USS Tennessee. He is now an instructor at NPTU, Charleston on an S5W reactor plant and is qualified Engineering Watch Supervisor. Steven is completing his studies in the Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering Technology degree program.

Vice President: Ronald Borel

Ronald BorelRonald Borel is retired from the US Army as a Signal Support System Section Chief and Senior Prime Power Production Specialist within the US Army Corps of Engineer's 249th Engineer Battalion in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He was responsible for the organization's Communications, Computers and Information Management together with setting up and deploying power generation and distribution systems during peacetime and emergencies within the country. He is an Information Technology consultant with a career spanning over 10 years. He also has more than 5 years of Plant Operations experience within the US Military and private sector in nuclear, diesel, natural gas, combined cycle, at either fixed or mobile power plants. He has held various leadership, management and technical positions throughout his career.

He is currently enrolled and pursuing the combined Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering Technology and Master of Business Administration with Cyber Security Management from Excelsior College.

Treasurer/Communications Officer: Wayne W. Watson III

Ronald BorelWayne W. Watson III is from Wiggins, Mississippi and graduated with High Honors from Stone High School in 2003. He attended the US Navy's Nuclear Electrician's Mate "A" School and Naval Nuclear Power School in Charleston, SC. He then went on to Naval Nuclear Power Prototype aboard the Moored Training Ship (MTS) 626 in 2004, also in Charleston, SC, on the S5W Plant. He spent the next four years aboard the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) completing the entirety of the USS Carl Vinson's Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH). Wayne qualified Shutdown Reactor Operator and Load Dispatcher which is the most senior electrical watch station onboard an aircraft carrier.

Wayne was honorably discharged from the US Navy in 2009 and changed career fields to the data center industry. He is now a Senior Data Center Manager in Chaska, Minnesota for a large colocation data center company. Wayne is happily married to Lindsey Watson, and they have three children, Wayne IV, Rowan, and Wyatt. He is currently enrolled in the BS Nuclear Engineering Technology / Masters in Business Administration dual degree program.

Faculty Advisor: Michael Johnson

Michael JohnsonMichael Johnson's nuclear career started in the Navy as a nuclear trained machinist mate serving on submarines and instructor duty. He was commissioned as a Naval Officer (Limited Duty Officer) and served as a Naval Reactors representative at Newport News Shipbuilding, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, and the Naval Reactors Facility in Idaho. Michael held positions as the Assistant Radiological Controls and Nuclear Repair Officer on a submarine tender.

Upon his retirement from the Navy, he held leadership positions in the operations and maintenance departments at the Department of Energy nuclear facility in Idaho and in the commercial nuclear industry. He is currently the Faculty Program Director for Energy Management at Excelsior College.

Michael qualified Surface Warfare Officer, Enlisted Submarines, Engineering Officer of the Watch, and Engineering Watch Supervisor while in the Navy. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from NY State Board of Regents External Degree Program (Excelsior College), a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Excelsior College, a Master of Science in Management from Florida Institute of Technology, and a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.
