About the Society for Human Resource Management
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 250,000 members in over 140 countries, the Society serves the needs of HR professionals and advances the interests of the HR profession. Founded in 1948, SHRM has more than 575 affiliated chapters within the United States and subsidiary offices in China and India.
SHRM Local Chapter Network
SHRM has more than 575 affiliate chapters both in the United States and abroad, which provide additional programming and networking opportunities in your local area. SHRM chapters are autonomous organizations, so it is not automatic that you will be a member of your local chapter when you join SHRM at the national level, and vice versa.

As the world’s largest association dedicated to human resource management, SHRM provides the most essential and comprehensive resources, conferences and seminars, global best practices and a network of valuable contacts for its 250,000 members in over 140 countries.

SHRM has partnered with nearly 300 college and universities to build a deeper knowledge of the HR field while developing valuable leadership and organization skills. Today, because of this remarkable partnership with SHRM, Excelsior College students can reliably interact with local HR professionals, and make contacts that can help them find a future job. SHRM has proven to be an incredible resource for students in terms of its continuing education, networking, and building the professional connections for career advancement.

As the inaugural SHRM Student Association President, I expect to see many of you take advantage of the countless opportunities provided by this exceptional organization, as you continue to take positive steps toward reaching your educational and career successes.
