Host a "Dine with 9" Alumni Event
We will reserve a table for 10 at a restaurant of your choice in your hometown and you'll enjoy a couple of hours of good food and conversation with nine of your fellow alumni. The Office of Alumni Affairs will send email invitations to alumni in your area and track registrations. We ask you to help by reaching out to your fellow graduates and encouraging them to join you for Dine with 9.
Contact the Office of Alumni Affairs to find out more about hosting a Dine with 9 in your hometown.
Help Us Celebrate Commencement Across the Country
In July we be celebrate in Albany, New York as our most recent Excelsior graduates walk across the stage at the College's annual Commencement ceremony. But you don't have to be in Albany to join us…you can host a Commencement party in your hometown and we'll celebrate together!
Viewing Party: Excelsior's Commencement ceremony takes place at 3 pm EST and is broadcast live online. If there are alumni in your area who are available on a Friday afternoon, all you need is a gathering place and a laptop.
After Party: Happy hour, anyone? Get together with alumni in your area for an after-work gathering and toast to Excelsior's newest graduates.
Contact the Office of Alumni Affairs to find out more about hosting a Commencement gathering in your hometown.
Do you work for a company where other Excelsior graduates/students are also employed? Or do you know others who may be interested in an Excelsior degree?
If so, as an Alumni Ambassador, you could help support Excelsior students and graduates working for the same employer. This volunteer opportunity would require a small time commitment (five hours or less) for a one-time activity.
For example, here's how you could help host an Alumni & Student Pizza Party at your place of work:
- Contact the College and your employer about your plan.
- Arrange for a conference room or other suitable location at your place of work.
- Promote the event by encouraging other graduates, current students, or prospective students to you you for pizza. The College will pick up the tab for pizza and water/soda.
- Attend the event and cultivate a welcoming atmosphere.
- Take a group photo and send it to the College for publication
The College will identify and invite other alumni and students at your place of employment and provide you with t-shirts and other cool stuff to hand out at the party.

Social Media Ambassador
Interested in being an Excelsior College Social Media Ambassador? This is a very flexible opportunity; Ambassadors can accept or pass on assignments as time allows. Volunteers participate in Excelsior's social media campaigns by sharing and commenting on College posts to help promote and cultivate engagement and awareness of Excelsior's alumni and student communities.
Success Files is a student success blog launched by Excelsior's Advisor Writing Group. It features posts from Excelsior faculty and staff aimed at helping students be as successful as possible as they pursue their degrees. Contributions from alumni are welcome. The goal of this opportunity is to help current students successfully pursue their degrees by sharing your advice and perspective on the student success blog. This is a one-time activity, repeatable at the volunteer's discretion, and could be completed in as little as one hour.
Email email@example.com or call (518) 608-8464 for more information.
Send news of your accomplishments and activities so that we can take our hats off to you in future issues of Excelsior's Magazine!
Through contributions of time, talent, and treasure, Excelsior College alumni can help provide life-changing opportunities to students, engage graduates, and advance the mission of the College.
