A two-time graduate of Excelsior College, Danny earned his AS degree from Excelsior with honors in 2001 and his BS degree in liberal arts/psychology in 2002, cum laude. Continuing his education at Troy State University, he received a master of science in human resources management in 2004. He is PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certified, and a federally certified EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) counselor. Danny is employed by the Department of Justice as an administrative specialist. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 14 years, ending his career as a surface force independent duty corpsman. Danny has a long history of community service with significant commitments to the American Red Cross, Disabled American Veterans, Fleet Reserve Association, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He has served as a Douglas County School Systems match mentor, as well as with the Special Olympics of Florida, where he was Co-County Coordinator and a state representative. He was a contributing author for the book, Century of War, based upon personal accounts of twentieth century war experiences from World War II to Desert Storm. He is a past vice president of Phi Theta Kappa. He was 2010 Secretary and 2011 Vice President of the Excelsior Alumni Advisory Board. In 2006, Excelsior College presented Danny with the C. Wayne Williams Alumni Award in recognition of his outstanding public service and community involvement.
