Lisse Wukelich graduated with a grade point average of 3.87. She satisfied her degree requirements by combining credits from various colleges including Excelsior. This enabled her at the age of 63 to accomplish a lifelong dream of completing a degree.
From the early 1990s until 2008, Ms. Wukelich had been an office manager/executive assistant for several real estate firms. In these positions, she was responsible for handling multiple priorities that helped these companies run effectively. Some of her various duties included providing instrumental support to the CEO and president, for whom she handled confidential matters, planned meetings, and maintained customer service to vendors.
One of her supervisors described her as having the initiative and attention to detail to handle complex real estate transactions. He noted that she would handle pressure with a cheerful attitude and contribute to the business by suggesting helpful alternatives. Another coworker described her as someone with “an open door mentality” to whom people turn for guidance and support. She showed her fellow employees ways to not only improve themselves but also the company, serving as example by pursuing her degree while working full time.
Wukelich is involved in many volunteer activities including the Temple Judea, Families Forward, and OC Literacy.
