The Holland Codes Career Assessment Tool and You
The Holland Career Assessment Tool is a great way to get started on assessing your career interests and skills and determine your next steps. In a nutshell:
- Holland's model divides job seekers and occupations into six similar types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional.
- People who choose to work in an environment that matches their personality type are more likely to be successful and satisfied with their jobs.
- Once you know your personality type, you can explore degree programs and occupations that match your type.
- No one is a pure type. Most people are a combination of three types so be sure to look at the descriptions for each of the Holland types in your three letter code to obtain the most complete information.
