Prevention and Treatment of Skin Breakdown
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services identified pressure wounds as one of the most common and costly clinical challenges facing the healthcare field. Maintaining healthy skin in patients is a responsibility shared by every level of health care provider. Wound care and pressure ulcer prevention requires an understanding of:
• Skin care and wound care basics
The Prevention and Treatment of Skin Breakdown series of comprehensive, online, self-paced courses were developed by Nurse Educators and are designed to help different levels of caregivers understand their role in wound care and pressure ulcer treatment and prevention. The courses use interactive and engaging modules to explain concepts and reinforce the critical role communication plays in providing proper care. Participants will observe patient interactions and clinical care situations, and take assessments throughout the course to demonstrate learning.
Registering Your Staff
Healthcare providers and institutions may purchase a block of corporate license access codes for the Prevention and Treatment of Skin Breakdown program. Employees will be able use individually-assigned access codes to register for the program, allowing the organization to monitor staff training.
The license price is determined by the number of individual users (employees) who will be enrolling in the program. Each code provides access to all three courses within the series. The organization will be able to purchase additional access codes as needed.
Please contact the Center for Professional Development for information on pricing and purchasing access codes for your organization.
