What associate degree programs do you offer for nursing? 
You can choose between our associate in science or associate in applied science in nursing degrees. For either option, you'll complete 31 general education and 36 nursing-specific credits. Our programs are designed with flexible exam and online course options for busy nursing professionals.

What are the admission requirements?
Admission into our associate degree programs in nursing requires a current license, certificate or classification in one of the following fields: Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN or LVN), Paramedics, Respiratory Therapists, Technicians or Practitioners, Physicians and Physician Assistants, and certain military servicemember classifications (reserve, active duty or within one year of discharge).

Will your programs prepare me for my RN license?
Our associate degree programs will make you eligible for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registerd Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Exceptions and additional requirements may exist for particular states.
State board requirements for your state

How long will it take me to complete one of these programs?
The average time of completion for part-time students is 3 years. The number of credits you transfer in, your schedule and other factors can effect that average time. For instance, most of our students continue working while completing their degree. NOTE: You are required to complete the program in 7 years.

What are my enrollment options?
Multi-source (exam-based) option
Students choose this option when they plan to complete their program requirements mostly through exams and would take less than 12 online course credits. Tuition is charged on a per-exam/course basis and added to standard application, enrollment, student service and graduation fees.

Course enrollment option
Students choose this option when they plan to take 12 online course credits or more with Excelsior. Tuition is charged on a per-course/exam basis and added to application, enrollment, student service and graduation fees.

How much will it cost me?
Your total will be dependent on a few factors: what financial assistance you are eligible for and take advantage of, which enrollment option you choose, and how much credit you transfer in. 

Financial Aid and Assistance
Students may be eligible for financial aid to cover general education courses and associated costs. Additionally, Excelsior offers interest-free payment plans as well as scholarships and loans to entering nursing students. We'll help you make the most of possible aid opportunities when you fill out your FAFSA.

Transfer Credit
Students may be able to transfer in previously-earned college credits toward their degree or be awarded credit for their military training. This eliminates the time and cost of taking an unneccessary exam or course.
