Chartering ceremony for human resources group for business students scheduled for August 9 at Excelsior College.

Albany, N.Y. (August 1, 2011) - Excelsior College's School of Business and Technology today announced it has been approved for a virtual chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The chartering ceremony will take place on August 9 at Excelsior College. Representatives from the Capital Region Human Resource Association (CRHRA), including Kelly Conroy, Michele Wilkes-Hawkins, and President Tracy Smith (Spargo), PHR, will be in attendance. SHRM virtual chapters present an opportunity for students to network, learn more about human resource management, build relationships with local professionals, and host regular meetings with business individuals throughout the country to speak via the web on a variety of topics. Chapters are run by elected student leaders with assistance of chapter advisors.

The president of the student chapter, Peter Barnett, will receive the charter for the chapter.
