Excelsior College Partners with Training Vision Institute to Create Degree Opportunities for Students

Albany, New York—Training Vision Institute, a Singapore-based education, and training institute for adults, is partnering with Excelsior College to offer students an opportunity to apply their credits toward an Excelsior degree.

Training Vision Institute offers a diploma in InfoComm Technology and an advanced diploma in Cybersecurity, which have both been reviewed by Excelsior for college credit. Both diplomas offer students the ability to transfer up to 24 credits into an associate or bachelor’s degree program from Excelsior. In addition, students have the potential to transfer in credits from prior learning through certificates, college courses, military, and workforce training, professional licenses, and exams.

“Excelsior is excited by our first international partnership and proud to be working with Training Vision Institute to make degree completion more accessible to students,” said David Schejbal, president of Excelsior College. “Education has the power to transform lives, and this partnership provides a pathway for degree attainment that can be essential in professional advancement.”

Excelsior College was founded in 1971 as the Regents External Degree Program, which evaluated credit earned from college courses, proficiency examinations, military educational programs, and the assessment of knowledge gained from experience and nontraditional approaches to education to help students achieve degree completion. While evolving to offer degree programs fully online, Excelsior has maintained its commitment to aggregating credit for previous learning accomplishments and awarding credit for approved workplace and military training, health care credentials, and industry certifications.

“Excelsior College and Training Vision Institute are both focused on making education work for students,” said David Kwee, CEO of Training Vision Institute. “Both institutions are steeped in competency-based training and education. Collectively we aspire through this partnership to bring continuing education and training to the next level.”

Training Vision Institute operates five training centers in Singapore to help make training and education accessible. Its workforce development programs are modular, stackable pathways including workshops, skills courses, and professional diplomas.
