Challenges and Opportunities: Creating Pathways for a Cyber Workforce Now Available
This past Thursday October 16th the National Cybersecurity Institute and School of Business and Technology at Excelsior College hosted on open house for those interested in cyber security workforce development and education. The event was attended by professisonals in academia, industry and government cyber security and information technology work.
The event was hosted at the National Cybersecurity Institute headquarters in downtown Washington D.C. After an hour of networking and lunch our Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Jane LeClair began the presentation by introducing our first speaker; Dr. Robert Miller, Faculty National Defense University (Ret) set the stage for the remainder of the presentation by framing the cyber conversation. The remainder of the presentation was conducted by Dr. Li-Fang Shih, associate dean of the School of Business and Technology and Dr. Sherly Abraham faculty program director for Excelsior’s cyber security programs. The focus of their presentation was the development of smooth degree pathways for cyber security education; including specific conversations about career paths, various curriculum, and transfer credits.
