Cybersecurity Webinar: So you want to be a Pentester?
On June 18, 2015, the National Cybersecurity Institute (NCI) hosted a webinar entitled “So you want to be a Pen tester?”. The webinar described the knowledge, skills, and methodology utilized while performing a penetration test. The pros and cons of both white box and black box tests were also covered, as well as why penetration tests are necessary and what to do with the results. Numerous examples of how useful information is gathered were presented.
The webinar was presented by James Antonakos who is a State University of New York Distinguished Teaching Professor of Computer Science at Broome Community College, in Binghamton, NY, where he has taught since 1984. Antonakos is the designer and director of the new 2-year AAS Degree in Computer Security and Forensics at Broome Community College. James is the author or co-author of over 40 books on computers, networking, electronics, and technology. He is also a fellow at the National Cybersecurity Institute.
