Interview with Katherine Pierce

In May 2015 and as part of the NCI’s Initiative for Women in Cybersecurity, (IWICS), Dr. Jane LeClair hosted Ms. Katherine Pierce. Katherine has been a Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service for over 8 years and is currently assigned to the Cyber Intelligence Section in Washington, DC. She spent the first 7 years of her career with the agency conducting cyber investigations in the San Francisco Field office. For several years, Katherine, oversaw the San Francisco Electronic Crimes Task Force which is a strategic alliance between law enforcement, academia and the private sector dedicated to confronting and suppressing cybercrime.

Prior to being hired by the Secret Service, Katherine worked for several years in the private sector at a software company where she moved her way up from a temp into several full time positions assisting customers with various b2b integration product installations and customization solutions.

Katherine studied Management Information Systems and Organizational Behavior at Miami University in Oxford, OH.
