Learning Resources at Excelsior College:

Part 1

This is part I of a series of blog posts designed to familiarize students with some of the learning resources available at Excelsior College. The intent of each post is to focus in on one of these resources, and provide students with an easy to read description.

For the first part of this series, we will be focusing on Nursing Content Calls.

 

Nursing Content Calls

 

What are they?

Content Calls allow you to speak one-on-one with nursing faculty that may assist in the development of a study plan, answer questions related to the CPNE content and process, and review plans of care and area of care for the documentation PCS practice scenarios.

Who are they for?

Currently enrolled ADN students taking exams and/or preparing for the CPNE

When can I schedule a Content Call for?

Depending on availability, M-F between the hours of 9am-430pm ET.

How can I schedule a Content Call?

How often can I schedule Content Calls?

You may have 2 calls scheduled at any one time, and are allotted 1 content call per week.

Is there a wait time?

There is generally a 1-2 week waiting time, so be sure to schedule ahead.

How much time do you have during the Content Call?

You have 30 minutes during each call.

What if I miss my call?

Due to large demand, you would have to call and make another appointment, therefore be sure to pick an appropriate time and put it on your schedule.

Some recommendations:

Be prepared for your content call, have all your books, notes and exam content guide ready. Be sure to have all your questions pre-planned to make the best use of your time.
