This examination tests the concepts and principles related to the application of the nursing roles of provider and manager of care and member of profession when applying the nursing process in the care of patients across the life span to support health and alleviate common health deviations related to nutrition, elimination, oxygenation, fluid and electrolyte balance, and rest and activity. Critical thinking skills and caring behaviors needed to provide and manage care for these patients are stressed. Evidence-based nursing care and standards for nursing practice, as well as ethical, legal, and regulatory concerns specific to these patients are addressed.
NOTE: This subject is a required component of the Excelsior College associate nursing degrees.

PRACTICE EXAM: Once you register for the credit-bearing exam, you will be eligible to register for a practice exam, for $75. To purchase the practice exam, which includes two different forms, you must also be actively enrolled in Excelsior’s associate degree in nursing program. Visit www.excelsior.edu and log into your MyExcelsior account to register.
Note on the Practice Exam: There will be fewer questions on the practice exams. In addition, the questions on the practice exams generally will not be the same as the ones you will see on the formal exam you take for college credit. Memorizing the specific questions and answers on the practice exam is not as useful as practicing with them to make sure you understand the concepts in the Content Outline.
Register for the Exam
You can register and pay for your exam online. After you register, you will receive an Authorization to Test letter. You'll need to select the 8- or 15-week term in which you'll take your exam.
