Fundamentals of Nursing
8.0 / Lower
The UExcel Fundamentals of Nursing examination is based on material typically taught in a two-semester sequence in fundamentals of nursing in an associate degree nursing program. This lower-level, eight-credit examination focuses on the health problems of adult clients that are commonly encountered by associate degree nurses in health care settings. The examination measures knowledge and understanding of the concepts of nursing as a profession, communication and interpersonal relations, client safety and comfort (including rest and activity), nutrition, elimination, oxygenation, and fluid and electrolyte balance, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge through use of the nursing process. The examination assumes a basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and mathematics. (This exam does NOT apply toward the Excelsior College nursing degrees. Multiple-choice examination)
