- American Nuclear Society Student Section - The American Nuclear Society student section provides a means for students to develop professionally within the nuclear science and engineering field.
- Cybersecurity Club - Excelsior's Cybersecurity Club focuses on community building among cybersecurity professionals at the College.
- IEEE Student Branch - Excelsior's School of Business and Technology sponsors a student branch of IEEE. Excelsior is the first distance learning institution to host an IEEE student branch.

The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security designated Excelsior as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education, a recognition which extends through 2019.
