SHRM Student Chapter Officers
Siara Ramos, is an enthusiastic Operations Assistant working in Excelsior College's School of Business & Technology. She provides support and assistance on major projects, budget, and events, and serves on various committees including the Lean In committee, Marketing Action Group, Student Advisory Group, and National Association of Professional Women (NAPW). These activities support the College's long term mission of serving adult learners. Siara is also enrolled in Excelsior's Bachelor of Professional Studies in Business and Management program
Siara won employee of the month in January of 2017 and has completed training from SkillsPath Seminars and received certificates for the Administrative Assistants Conference, awarded on August 19, 2016; and the Fred Pryor Seminars for Business Writing for Results, awarded on November 28, 2016. Siara holds an AA Degree in Liberal Arts from LaGuardia Community College and has 5 years' experience working in higher education.
Siara believes in collaborative team work, innovation, sharing experiences, and creating effective solutions. Assisting in continuous improvement regarding how we train, develop, do business with employees, and create healthy work environments for all is a passion and motivation for Siara as she works towards becoming an HR professional.
Chapter Vice President
Meghan Rosebeck is currently an academic advisor at Excelsior College. She completed her Undergraduate degree in English at SUNY Albany in 2012, and the Master of Science in Management program with Excelsior College in 2016. She is now pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Human Resource Management with Excelsior College. In her free time, Meghan enjoys helping her fiancé build their house, practicing yoga, doing crafts, reading, and hanging out with family and friends.
Dr. Michele Paludi
Dr. Michele Paludi served as Chair of the U.S. Department of Education's Subpanel on the Prevention of Violence, Sexual Harassment, and Alcohol and Other Drug Problems in Higher Education. She was one of six scholars in the United States to be selected for this subpanel. She also was a consultant to and a member of former New York State Governor Mario Cuomo's Task Force on Sexual Harassment.
Dr. Paludi serves as an expert witness for court proceedings and administrative hearings on sexual harassment, campus violence and workplace violence. She has had extensive experience in conducting training programs and investigations of sexual harassment and other Equal Employment and Equal Educational Opportunity (EEO) issues for businesses and educational institutions.
In addition, Dr. Paludi has held faculty positions at Franklin & Marshall College, Kent State University, Hunter College, Union College, Hamilton College, Siena College and Union Graduate College, where she directs the human resource management certificate program. She is the Senior Faculty Program Director for Human Resources and Leadership at Excelsior College.
