PRESIDENTE
John Beam, a student in the Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering Technology program, has over 30 years of defense and commercial nuclear experience. He is currently the corporate senior manager for health, safety, and environmental training with Fluor. Beam is responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training for a global workforce of 30,000 plus employees and contractors.
He sees nuclear energy as the most promising clean energy solution to the global energy crisis and believes the future is bright for nuclear applications in the fields of imaging, radiation therapy, health physics, and medical physics.
Beam is finishing his final year of studies to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering Technology and hopes to further his education with a master’s degree from Excelsior.
VICEPRESIDENTE
Chelsea Troutman ha trabajado en la industria de la energía nuclear durante los últimos 11 años. En 2023, Troutman se convirtió en directora de aseguramiento normativo de la central nuclear James A. FitzPatrick. Antes de unirse al equipo de FitzPatrick, pasó cinco años en Supervisión Nuclear, donde comenzó como auditora y ascendió a directora de supervisión regional del noreste en 2020. Antes de su paso por Supervisión, Troutman fue especialista superior en preparación para emergencias y apoyó el mantenimiento de las instalaciones de respuesta a emergencias, proporcionó formación y sirvió de interfaz con las Organizaciones de Respuesta Externa y fue gestora de los sistemas de sirenas de siete centrales repartidas por Maryland, Nueva Jersey, Pensilvania y Nueva York.
Se licenció en Geografía con especialización en Tecnología Cartográfica por la Universidad de Mansfield en 2011 y obtuvo un máster en Gestión de Emergencias por la Universidad de Millersville en 2013. Como parte de su máster, realizó unas prácticas en Exelon Generation, lo que dio el pistoletazo de salida a su carrera en el sector de la energía nuclear. En octubre de 2023, comenzó el programa de Licenciatura en Tecnología de Ingeniería Nuclear en la Universidad Excelsior.

Anveeksh Koneru is a dedicated educator and accomplished researcher who serves as full-time faculty in mechanical and electronics engineering technology at Excelsior University. Prior to joining Excelsior in September 2023, Koneru was the graduate program head and ABET coordinator for mechanical engineering at the University of Texas Permian Basin. His expertise extends to curriculum development, and he actively engages students in extracurricular activities.
Koneru earned a PhD in mechanical engineering from West Virginia University. He is an active member of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and served as an ASEE campus representative, advocating for the improvement of engineering education. In his research, Koneru has delved into various facets of computational materials. His work encompasses areas like thermoelectrics, photocatalysis, wind turbines, and supercapacitors. He has successfully obtained grants, including a $5,000 American Nuclear Society faculty grant and a $300,000 University of Texas System STARs grant for setting up a computational, fabrication, and characterizing lab.
