How To Apply

Follow these easy steps to get started with your degree program.

Call 800-228-4750 to request your Tyson Leadership Training transcript. 

This official evaluation results in an initial status report which will be mailed to you. This document shows how your previously earned credits apply and what credits are required in order to earn your degree. The evaluation process takes approximately four weeks.

1) Speak to an Excelsior College Admissions Counselor to learn about the College and find out how your previous college credits may be transferred into a degree program, toll-free: 888-285-8649

2) Select your preferred academic area of interest and ensure it is applicable to your job.

3) If you have been out of school for a time, it's advisable to take a course or two before applying. If you have already earned some college credits and are ready to complete your degree, you should complete an undergraduate application for admission.

4) Complete the Tyson Education Assistance Form (PDF) and submit it to your supervisor for approval.

5) Complete the Excelsior College Tyson Undergraduate Application Form (PDF).

6) If you already have earned some college credit, order your official transcripts from any college and universities you have attended. Mail the transcripts directly to Excelsior College. However, if the transcripts are sent directly to you, place the unopened envelope in another envelope and mail it directly to:

7) If you have successfully participated in Tyson Leadership Training, have Tyson send the transcripts to Excelsior College. This training may be worth up to six credits toward your degree.

8) Mail your completed Excelsior College Undergraduate Application for Tyson Foods Employees form to Excelsior College.

9) Once you're accepted, you'll need to enroll into the degree program of your choice, using the Excelsior College Enrollment Form.

10) Once enrolled, Excelsior College will evaluate your transcripts to determine how previously earned credit applies to your degree program.

11) After receiving the initial status report, you'll work with your academic advising team to choose appropriate courses.

12) You can begin to take courses once you have received approval from your academic advising team. The team ensures that you take courses appropriate to your degree program.

13) Earn a grade of C or better and submit an itemized bill and a copy of your grade(s) to the Tyson Corporate Training Director for reimbursement of your expenses (75% of costs, up to $3,500 per calendar year).

14) Continue this process until your degree requirements are met.

15) Graduate.
