Veterans Tuition and Fees

Excelsior University offers a reduced fee structure for veterans to help make education more affordable. We also have veteran-friendly policies and advising services that make it easy to apply GI Bill® and other educational benefits toward your Excelsior degree.

The costs on this page apply to military veterans and DoD civilian employees.


Cost Description
Tuition $510 per credit
Academic Services Fee $28 per credit hour Library services, academic advising, evaluation of transfer credit, and academic program planning.
Technology Fee $20
Per course credit and per exam
Investments in and continuing improvements to technology services.
Graduation Fee $125 Final review and processing of student records for degree conferral and issuance of diploma.


Cost Description
Tuition $695 an all-inclusive rate that covers the use of student services, technology and the processing of student records for degree conferral. Note that course materials are not included in tuition.

Graduation Rate
While most of our Excelsior students are not full-time, the share of full-time students who graduate within 8 years of entering Excelsior for the first time is 35%.
