Online Courses & Credit By Exam

Earn credit at Excelsior College by completing online courses and/or by taking undergraduate subject exams.

Excelsior College will no longer offer UExcel exams after the Summer 2022 trimester. If you are interested in taking a UExcel exam(s), the deadline for registration is Thursday, June 30. The last day to take a UExcel exam is Sunday, August 21.

Online Course Offerings

Online courses at Excelsior provide you with a scheduled syllabus and are led by instructors with graduate degrees. You’ll read textbooks, complete assignments, and respond to discussion questions on a weekly basis. Most courses are worth 3 credits and run for 8 or 15 weeks.

Credit By Exam Options

Use Excelsior College UExcel® exams to earn undergraduate college credit that you can use towards a degree in business, education, humanities, math, natural sciences, social sciences, technology, and other disciplines. Our wide array of proficiency exams allow you to earn credit by taking a test after a period of supported independent study.
