Honor Society of Nursing: Tau Kappa-at-Large Chapter

The Excelsior Tau Kappa-at-Large chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, the international honor society of nurses, has been officially recognized since 2004.

Registered nurses who've earned a bachelor's degree in any field and have demonstrated leadership in the profession of nursing may join the Tau Kappa-at-Large Chapter directly by contacting member services.

Student Membership

As an RN-BS student, you'll be invited to join if you:

  • Are currently enrolled or graduated between April 1 of the previous year and March 31 of the current year and
  • Have completed one-half of your nursing requirements and maintain(ed) a grade point average that places you in the top 35% of your class.

As an MS or RN-MS student, you'll be invited to join if you:

  • Are currently enrolled or graduated between April 1 of the previous year and March 31 of the current year and
  • Have completed 21 nursing credits and maintain(ed) a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

If you were invited to join and didn't take advantage of the opportunity, you won't receive another invitation. However, you may apply as community leader once you've earned your BS or MS degree.
