Senior director of research and development at Underwriters Laboratories Workplace Health and Safety, William Senn earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, summa cum laude, from Excelsior College in 2007.
Dr. Senn is responsible for the direction of a globally distributed, talented, and diverse group of architects, software engineers, user experience designers and developers in the development of advanced software platforms and products for the Workplace Health and Safety business unit of Underwriters Laboratories. He is a participant in the local and national technical communities both professionally and as a hobbyist. In addition, he teaches courses at the University of North Texas in Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery for graduate and undergraduate levels.
He is an active member of the American Society for Information Science and Technology where he has been chapter assembly director and member of the board as well as chair of the Knowledge Management Special Interest Group. He is also a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Decision Science Institute (DSI), and Phi Kappa Phi, where he served as the president of the University of North Texas Chapter. He has been honored as an IBM Cognos Information Champion three times in 2010, 2011 and 2012, was the recipient of the American Society for Information Science and Technology New Leaders Award in 2011, and was awarded the UL Mark of Excellence in 2013.
In addition to his Excelsior degree, Senn earned a PhD in Information Science in 2014 and a Master of Science in Library and Information Science in 2009 both from the University of North Texas.
