Annie L. Hough-Everage
Annie L. Hough-Everage, of Chesterfield, South Carolina, is an army veteran and commander of South Carolina American Legion Post 74, commander of South Carolina American Legion District 12, and a past assistant governor of Rotary District 7770, Area 15. Hough-Everage is ready to integrate her volunteerism and love of postsecondary education into giving back to Excelsior University. She funds two high school scholarships each year and is a member of numerous organizations, including the Rotary Club of Cheraw, National Education Association, California Teachers Association, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 74 Charter Member, Chesterfield County Veterans Advisory Committee, and is a member of the South Carolina Selective Service System local board. Her publications include “Developing a Visual and Performing Arts Program for Instruction with Second-Grade Students at an Elementary School” and “The Impact of No Child Left Behind Legislation on Children Who Live in Poverty Who Are Gifted.” She has presented at national and international education conferences and continues to serve as a reviewer for education journals.
In addition to her 1993 Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from Excelsior University (then Regents College), she holds an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assistant from Northeastern Technical College, a Master of Arts in Education and a graduate certificate of gerontology of professional studies from Chapman University, and a Doctor of Education from Fischler School of Education and Human Services at Nova Southeastern University.
