
Rafael Caycho
Rafael Caycho, PhD, MHA, joined Excelsior University in July 2025 as a full-time faculty member in the School of Allied Health. He teaches health science courses.
Building upon his experience as a registered medical assistant, health care administrator, clinical support specialist, and clinical team manager, Caycho has served as an undergraduate and graduate professor at several universities and as a course and curriculum developer for a Spanish language university and an international content development firm. He has participated in various research projects aimed at continually improving health care services. His research focuses on the disparity in health care services for minorities in the United States, especially for Spanish-speaking populations.
Caycho holds a doctorate in health services, with a focus on health care administration, and a master’s degree in health care administration, both from Walden University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Georgia. A native of Lima, Peru, he has lived most of his life and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
