Celebrate Juneteenth with the Capital Region Underground Railroad Education Center and the Young Abolitionist Leadership Institute. Our online event showcases high school students in New York’s Capital Region who call themselves “young abolitionists” and the work of Marcus Anderson, graphic artist and deputy director of the Capital Region Underground Railroad Education Center. Participants will see a recorded tour of the Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence, which served as a center for Underground Railroad activity. The Underground Railroad Education Center, based in Albany, New York, researches, interprets, and preserves the local and national history of the Underground Railroad movement. The Excelsior University’s Center for Social Justice hosts this event.
