Laura Eklund

Laura Eklund has been teaching at Excelsior University since 2009. She enjoys writing about art and maintaining a working practice for creating art and actively exhibiting it. Her most recent one-person show was at Brescia University in fall 2024. Eklund has held exhibitions in Florence, Italy (Florence Biennale); New York City; and Lisbon, Portugal, with gallery representation from Portland, Oregon, to Sarasota, Florida. She is currently writing a textbook: A Visual Odyssey: Navigating the World of Art & Why It Matters. Cognella Publishing will release the preliminary edition in fall 2027. Eklund is also a published poet. Her poetry has been featured in Southern Women’s Review, Lalitamba, Tears in the Fence, and ABZ, as well as in a collection, The White Ibis: Selected Poems, released by Ara Pacis Publishers.
