Marie Bakari

Marie Bakari, EdD, DBA, serves as the department chair of graduate programs in Excelsior University’s School of Business, where she manages practitioner-focused programs designed to prepare the next generation of business leaders. With more than 20 years in health care, 15 years as an entrepreneur, and 12 years in higher education, she uses her experience to support students as they advance personally and professionally.

Bakari holds doctorates in education leadership and business, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Science in accounting. Her research and teaching interests include cultural competence, diversity and inclusion, business management, and innovation and entrepreneurship. As a dedicated educator and leader, she remains committed to promoting education as a tool for transformation, advancement, and social change.
