Sena Amegbletor

Sena Amegbletor is a dedicated registered nurse and public health nurse with the Virginia Department of Health, where she leads community health initiatives aimed at reducing disparities and improving population health outcomes in Norfolk, Virginia. With nearly 20 years of nursing experience spanning from primary care, clinical, military health, and public health settings, she specializes in health promotion and disease, communicable disease management, immunizations, and culturally responsive care.   Her practice in public health includes managing tuberculosis and newcomer health programs, spearheading community education, and collaborating with schools and nonprofits to implement targeted interventions. Sena has earned multiple honors, including the Daisy Award (2023, 2024), TB Newcomer Health Nurse of the Year (2024), and recognition in Working Nation eMagazine. She was a Nurse Leadership Academy Fellow in 2024.   Also, she is an active member of the American Nurses Association and Virginia Nurses Association and is known for her mentorship and advocacy for health equity.   She earned a Diploma in Practical Nursing from Riverside School of Health Professions, Associate of Science in Social Sciences from Tidewater Community College, Associate in Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management from Excelsior University, where she is pursuing a Master of Science in Health Sciences with a concentration in public health.
