Timothy Leaks

Timothy G. Leaks, of Urbana, Maryland, serves as the food advisor/supply and logistics manager at the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall (The Old Guard) at Fort Myer, Virginia. Leaks began working in the culinary industry when he joined the Marine Corps in 1996. He worked with numerous military and civilian chefs throughout his time in the Marines until 2000. In 2004, after exploring the civil sector for four years, he joined the U.S. Army as a 92G (culinary specialist). In his current 23+ years in the military, Leaks has been assigned to many duty stations where he has served in varied positions, including food advisor, dining facility manager, shift leader, senior first cook, rations supervisor, and administration supervisor. He was assigned as the food operations manager while deployed to Afghanistan on four separate occasions. Leaks is an active contributor to Excelsior through the Ambassador Program, social media, and generous donations to the Pay It Forward and ELEVATE campaigns, with a focus on the military/veterans scholarship fund. Leaks looks to support a network of current and former graduates through his work on the Alumni Leadership Council, who will, in turn, help raise the profile and promotion of Excelsior University. Leaks’ goal is to become a food inspector, probation officer, or school teacher upon retiring from the U.S. Army. He is married with two daughters. Leaks earned a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts in 2019 and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice in 2022, both from Excelsior University.
