CYS610 Cloud Technologies and Data Security
Description
Cloud and data security, also known as cloud computing security, consists of a set of policies, controls, procedures and technologies that work together to protect cloud-based systems, data, and infrastructure. These fundamental security measures are integral in protecting cloud data, support regulatory compliance and protect customers' privacy as well as setting authentication rules for individual users and devices. This course will cover principles such as authenticating access to filtering traffic and will be closely aligned with the ISC2 CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional). Cloud security can be customized to the exact needs of the business which provides flexibility for an organization. These rules can be configured and managed in one place, administration overheads are reduced and IT teams empowered to focus on other areas of the business. Training is needed to properly assess the various applications of cloud security and how it is delivered. Some decisions will depend on the individual cloud provider or the cloud security solutions in place. This course will define those parameters. Students registering for this course will be assessed a course resource fee.
