EGR290 Advanced 3-D Modeling

  • Department Engineering
  • Level Lower
  • Format Online
  • Credits 3

Description

Building on the foundations of introductory engineering sketching and modeling, this course further explores the design of mechanical components (parts and assemblies) using SOLIDWORKS. It begins with the application of equations and global variables, then progresses to enhance students' proficiency with SOLIDWORKS tools and features such as multi-bodies, sheet metal, 3-D sketch, and weldments. Advanced projects challenge students to expand their skills by integrating mechanical design principles with computer-aided design techniques and capabilities. By the end of this course, students will be able to design parts and assemblies using sheet metal features and present step-by-step instructions on how to create 3-D solid models. Note, students registering for this course are assessed a course resource fee.
