OBJECT ORIENTED PROGRAMMING

Covers problem solving and algorithm development using the object-oriented programming language Java. Introduction to object-oriented features including encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism. Examines the development of processes of design, coding, debugging, and documentation. Focuses on techniques of good programming style. This course duplicated IT 240. Students cannot receive credit for both courses.

Prerequisite: Basic computer literacy. Knowledgeable about using computers and the Internet. Have a computer for course work. Knowledgeable about downloading programs from various Web sites. Knowledgeable about installing downloaded programs. During the first week of class, the student will be instructed on how to install JAVA and Net Beans in order to complete the programming assignments.
